Your pets always receive the best care.
At Gateway Veterinary Clinic, we follow the recommendations of the American Animal Hospital Association, Companion Animal Parasite Council, American Heartworm Society, and the American Association of Feline Practitioners. This ensures we are recommending the most current preventative programs and recommendations for the threats found in our area. Our staff utilizes lifestyle surveys to better understand the individual risks your pet may encounter.
We're Proudly AAHA-Accredited
Our veterinarians would like to see your dog or cat annually. Pets age an average of 7 times faster than their people. Major changes can occur in one year’s time. During an annual wellness visit, your pet will be examined from nose to tail. This enables our doctors to identify and address medical problems at a time when treatments are most effective.
Starting your pets on a strong vaccination schedule early on is important! When applicable, we follow the recommended 3-year vaccinations protocols to prevent over-vaccination. While vaccine reactions are extremely rare, our team is ready to treat reactions promptly and at no additional cost to you.
Laser Therapy is an FDA-cleared modality that reduces inflammation, and that results in pain reduction. Laser Therapy is effective in treating acute pain, chronic conditions, and postoperative pain. Laser therapy treatment is safe, painless and fast. Treatments to deeper tissues are administered in 5 to 10 minutes.
Heartworm Disease and Intestinal Parasites
Heartworm disease is an infection transmitted by mosquitoes and is a threat to both dogs and cats. We offer a variety of prevention medications to make administration as easy as possible for you. We even offer a 6-month injection for dogs for the prevention of heartworm. All of our heartworm prevention plans include regular intestinal deworming.
In-House Laboratory Diagnostics
Quicker diagnosis leads to quicker treatment. In the event your pet is sick, our doctors are great diagnosticians. They utilize our extensive in-house laboratory, digital radiography, ultrasound, and state of the art monitors. This allows for rapid results and superior image quality so that the correct treatment begins promptly. In the event a board-certified specialist needs to be consulted, all results and images can be transmitted electronically. Decreasing the time needed for their review and response. When time is critical, we are the hospital to take care of your pet.
Fleas, Ticks and other External Parasites
Fleas and ticks can infect your pet. Tapeworms, Lyme disease, anaplasmosis, and ehrlichiosis are just a few of the threats these external parasites carry. We offer collars, topicals, and oral preventatives to make it easy for you to protect your pet. The good news is that prevention is simple and will keep your pet safe.
